Torches 4thekids
Shona McCarthy, from the children’s charity 4thekidz in New Zealand, reached out to us this week for donations of torches to go into comfort packs as part of their Tedz Project. These packs are handed out to children currently dealing with different kinds of trauma in their lives. The torches provide security for these children who may have suddenly lost, or been removed from, their family or home during a crisis through no fault of their own.
The aim of the charity 4thekidz is to raise child abuse awareness and strengthen families in New Zealand by engaging and empowering communities to support each other and to speak up, see the signs and stop the abuse.
We were delighted to be able to support the project by donating our remaining 500 USB rechargeable torches from our Auckland warehouse. Using our local New Zealand warehouse meant we could deliver the torches to the charity quickly.
The torches have already been received and are on their way into the community where they are needed the most. Fantastic!
Shona, the charity’s Chairperson informs us the torches will be used in the 10+ year old packs which also include a teddy, blanket, journal and pens.
We wish Shona and the rest of the team at 4thekidz the very best in reaching their goal of bringing the Tedz 4thekidz project across the whole of New Zealand.
