This unit screws into a petrol fuel filter that normally has a clear plastic water collection receptacle at the bottom of the fuel filter (Typical units in our range include MGC235/MCG245). The water detector bowl simply is replaced with this unit. The unit (which has a water drain plug) is then wired to +12 (or +24) volts and a Piezo buzzer which is then conveniently mounted. Water is very common in petrol in boats, generally in quite small harmless amounts. This alarm recognises this fact and ignores small amounts of water. It is only when there is a significant amount of water in the fuel will the alarm go off.
The alarm is supplied with 12V wiring harness (4.3m long) with inline fuse and Piezo sounder. It is not recommended for Diesel fuel. Comprehensive instructions are supplied.
