It is very, very important to have a tyre condition monitoring system when you are towing a boat or caravan – especially in the outback. Because the combined weight of your tow vehicle and what you are towing has such a large total weight, it can be quite possible that a tyre (especially on your boat/caravan) can deflate without you noticing it and can then shred itself to death before you feel a thing.
Once correctly installed the console will give you a real-time readout of each tyre’s temperature and pressure. Tyre temp & pressure will come up from cold after you have travelled for a short while. It will then stabilise. If you have a crook tyre, you will notice it as its temp reading will be higher than the others and the pressure may be lower. You then pull over and repair/replace the tyre before a catastrophe happens. Remember, a blown tyre can cause a terrible, terrible accident.
